So... This is a (massive) thing. This is a Das Rollende mobile hotel. You basically check into this massive German hotel bus and tour an area. The bus contains 26 separate 6x3ft
bedrooms and carries about 55 passengers. German plates.
I was eating lunch on a patio when it rolled by. I nearly choked when I saw it lumbering down the street. Fun fact, last week when eating in the same spot I saw !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! just chillin as they shot a movie across the street.
As a bonus, here is an RCMP national security Chrysler 300 (???). Its not uncommon to see counter-terrorism/national security vehicles or even heavily armed units in my building due to the US Consulate occupying the top few floors. Not sure if a 300 would be my first choice.

“Hans, wake up, you slept through Banff!”
This is seriously a nutty idea, but I like it. A Japanese capsule hotel on wheels.

It’s a great idea, I would totally do it. I like the idea of a crazy Euro bus full of krauts trying to get through Vancouver, a notoriously
shit city to drive in.

Think of the toilet in that bus being defiled by 55 germans
... Nope, nope, nope and nope.

Oh man I think I’ve heard of those, I have never seen one around here. I guess it would be good for certain applications.

Around here in SF we get the Euros who rent an RV or alternatively we get world circumnavigators with Swiss etc.. plates on U nimog rigs.

I was happier before you brought that image into my awareness

I think this company goes all around the world, and they have a trailer version 0-O. I see pics all over the world with various busses and trailers, Rotel Tours huh.

We get a fair amount of Euro RVs for a village of only 3000.

Not gonna lie, I’m adding the Mercedes truck based ones to my list of “cars I’d buy if I were a billionaire ”

Mien Gott....

Yeah, I saw a MAN truck with a removable container rig and it was spectacular too. I want.... The new Merc van sales have really taken off around here, I’ve seen everyone from families making it their family Tahoe rig to plumber surfer clearly wanting a surf van and also using it as their work vehicle for taxes as well. I wouldn’t mind one, the new ones look nice, since I don’t think we can get a diesel Ford van?

I’d love a sprinter. I’ve fantasized about making one a mobile office (see billionaire list).
I’m shocked that MAN has never come to America. The marketing would write itself.
Want a mans truck? MAN Trucks for real men.

Even more manly than RAM in ridiculous lettering on your truck.

I remember seeing a rotel bus in Southern utah. It was weird to get home and look them up and say to myself. “people would pay money to do that?”

300 is a good stealth rig, especially a basic model like that. Looks like 50% or more of US/CDN rental fleet “lux ury” vehicles and probably at least as many livery vehicles. Blends into a crowd, comfortable, not too slow.

I’d assume most Canadian law enforcement vehicles would be Chargers/300s/Impalas due to a desire to buy Canadian- built vehicles?
![]() 08/16/2018 at 16:47 |

Nah, nationally the RCMP uses both Ford interceptors (SUV/Sedan). Locally, many police departments use Chargers.
Other than that, you still see a smattering of Crown vics or maybe tahoes. Some pickups/SUV’s or whatever for special vehicles.

6x3 ft?.... thats a coffin not a bedroom
![]() 08/16/2018 at 17:24 |

If you flip it around, it’s a coffin for the average US child. 3ft long, 6ft wide.

yikes lol
but yeah.. id hate that (the tiny bedrooms not the bustour)

How bad could it be... after they’ve had sauerkraut and sausage for dinner?

And also imagine everyone sleeping... after they’ve had sauerkraut and sausage for dinner.
Think of the farts!

I have never seen or even heard of this concept before. Interesting. Not m y cup of tea though.
